Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Objective:

The Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of Maharashtra on June 28, 2024, aimed at empowering women in the state.  To ensure the economic independence of women in the state, improve their health and nutrition, and strengthen their decisive role in the family, the Government of Maharashtra approved the “Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin” scheme on June 28, 2024. Under this scheme, eligible women aged 21 to 65 years in Maharashtra will receive a monthly financial benefit of ₹1,500 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Required Documents:

  1. Aadhaar Card: Name should be as per Aadhaar card.
  2. Domicile Certificate: If not available, any one of the following documents of the woman (ration card older than 15 years / voter ID card older than 15 years / birth certificate / school leaving certificate).
  3. If the woman was born outside the state: Any one of the following documents of her husband (ration card older than 15 years / voter ID card older than 15 years / birth certificate / school leaving certificate / domicile certificate).
  4. Annual Income: Must be less than ₹2.50 lakh.
    • a) If holding a yellow or orange ration card, no income certificate is required.
    • b) If holding a white ration card or no ration card, an income certificate showing annual income up to ₹2.50 lakh is required.
  5. For newly married women: If her name is not on the ration card, her husband’s ration card along with the marriage certificate will be accepted as proof of income.
  6. Bank Account Details: (Account should be linked with Aadhaar).
  7. Beneficiary Woman’s Guarantee Letter and Photo.

Eligibility:

Below are the eligibility criteria for Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana:

  1. Must be a resident of Maharashtra state.
  2. Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, and destitute women in the state, as well as only one unmarried woman in the family.
  3. Minimum age of 21 years and up to a maximum age of 65 years.
  4. The beneficiary must have a bank account linked with Aadhaar.
  5. The annual income of the beneficiary’s family must not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.

In-Eligibility:

  1. Families with a combined annual income exceeding ₹2.50 lakh.
  2. Families with a member who is an income taxpayer.
  3. Families with a member who is a regular/permanent employee in a government department/undertaking/board, or working in local bodies of the Government of India or the State Government, or receiving a pension after retirement. However, employees working through external agencies, voluntary workers, and contractual employees with an income up to ₹2.50 lakh will be eligible.
  4. Beneficiary women receiving a monthly benefit of ₹1,500 or more from any other government department’s financial scheme.
  5. Families with a member who is a current or former Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
  6. Families with a member who is a chairman/vice-chairman/director/member of any board/corporation/undertaking of the Government of India or the State Government.
  7. Families owning a four-wheeler vehicle (excluding tractors) registered in the name of any family member.
